Myler to make Wolves bow

Warrington coach Tony Smith has confirmed that new signing Richie Myler will make his Wolves debut against Widnes Vikings on Boxing Day.

Smith signed the 19-year-old England scrum-half for £200,000 from Salford City Reds at the end of last season, making Myler the most expensive teenager in rugby league in the process.

Smith can't wait to see the teenager in a Warrington shirt, saying: "He's very excited about playing for his new club.

Reds swoop to sign Broughton

Salford City Reds have continued their squad rebuilding programme for the 2010 season by signing the Leeds Rhinos three-quarter Jodie Broughton.

The 21-year-old has had two loan spells with Hull FC in the past, scoring four tries in ten appearances for the Black and Whites.

Broughton has has signed a two-year contract with the Reds who are hoping to improve on last season when only Celtic Crusaders finished beneath them in the Super League table.

Dragons excited by stadium plans

Catalans Dragons general manager Christophe Levy is looking forward to the 2010 season when the French side will play all their home games in Perpignan.

Wigan Warriors have rejected a request to move their game against the Dragons on July 4 to Montpellier, but Levy is unconcerned.

The Dragons are carrying out major improvements to their Gilbert Brutus Stadium and have made provisional plans to take their big matches to the council-owned Stade Aime Giral, which is the home of Perpignan's rugby union club.

Orford finally granted visa

Bradford Bulls coach Steve McNamara says he was always convinced that Matt Orford would eventually sign for the club after the scrum-half was finally granted a visa.

The Australian agreed a three-year deal with the Odsal-based Super League side last month after a long-running saga.

He is now expected to arrive in England after Christmas as the build-up to the 2010 season gathers pace.

Saints to leave Knowlsey Road

St Helens will leave Knowlsey Road at the end of the 2010 season and move to a new stadium for Super League XVI in 2011.

The Super League side have been playing at Knowlsey Road for the last 120 years but will now move to a new 18,000 capacity ground which is being built on the old United Glassworks site in the town.

Despite this announcement there is some confusion over whether the ground will be ready for the start of the 2011 season.

Noble hampered by uncertainty

Crusaders head coach Brian Noble has admitted that doubts over the future of the club has seen them fall behind their Super League rivals in terms of pre-season planning.

On Wednesday, the Welsh franchise confirmed that they will play 11 of their 13 home matches at Wrexham Football Club's Racecourse Ground next season after recently being taken over.

Noble is attempting to prepare his new side for the start of the next Super League season in February and has admitted that his hands have been somewhat tied by the uncertainty.

"That's the sad and frustrating thing for us," he said.

Crusaders move north to Wrexham

Super League side Crusaders have confirmed that they will play 11 of their 13 home matches at Wrexham Football Club's Racecourse Ground in 2010.

The Welsh side were recently taken over by Wrexham Village Ltd and the move north had been an expected one.

Included in these 11 matches will be their season opener against defending Super League Champions Leeds Rhinos on 28 January.

Wrexham's chief executive Paul Retout said: "North Wales has been starved of major sporting success for too many years and we are confident we can achieve that success in Super League with Crusaders RL.

Catalans Dragons have signed the Australian winger Chris Walker on a two-year contract.

Walker's transfer means that the French Super League side have completed their overseas quota for 2010 and filled the gap left by their departing captain, Greg Bird.

A clash between Bradford and Crusaders, who are now led by former Bulls coach Brian Noble, will get the Magic Weekend in Edinburgh underway in May.

Seven matches will be played over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend in Murrayfield, with four games scheduled for the Saturday and three on the Sunday.
