Warrington Wolves are confident that they will be able to welcome three key players back into the squad for Saturday's crunch Super League clash against St Helens.
Coach Tony Smith could welcome back Louis Anderson, Matt King and Paul Wood for the Halliwell Jones Stadium showdown after they missed last weekend's 29-28 loss to basement boys Catalans Dragons.
Warrington sit in second while the Saints trail just one place and two points behind and former England head coach Smith is hopeful his men will return as they look to improve on a record of just one win in their previous 42 games against the Knowsley Road-based outfit.
"We have a few bumps and bruises, nothing out of the ordinary," said Smith. "We are not too far off having most of our troops back this weekend.
"We'll assess them as the week goes on but most players have been able to train pretty well.
"I am pretty sure Kingy will come through this week. We run tests on all our players and monitor their fatigue levels.
"We try to prevent injury rather than cause it. We take care of them and the signs were there for some of our players that injury wouldn't be far from them. We kept them out of the front line."
