Wakefield steam-rollered by Giants

Huddersfield Giants moved up to sixth in the Super League table by thrashing hapless Wakefield Trinity Wildcats 58-6 at the Galpharm Stadium.

It is a result that does nothing to help John Kear's team push for a play-off place.

The Giants ran in ten tries through Danny Brough, Darrell Griffin, Graeme Horne, Leroy Cudjoe (2), Shaun Lunt, Jermaine McGillvary, Lee Gilmour, David Hodgson and Scott Grix while Sean Gleeson grabbed Wakefield's consolation effort.

Elsewhere, Catalans Dragons added more misery to Bradford Bulls by inflicting an 11th successive defeat on the West Yorkshire side.

The French side won 24-22 at Odsal thanks to tries by Steven Bell, Sebastien Raguin, Olivier Elima and Setaimata Sa.

Crusaders annihilated Salford City Reds 60-16 at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground to improve their hopes of being in the play-offs.

Nick Youngquest grabbed a hat-trick of tries for the Welsh side as they secured their tenth win of the campaign. Full-back Clinton Schifcofske also made the headlines, scoring two tries and eight goals.

Tony Martin (2), Frankie Winternstein, Rhys Hanbury, Ryan O'Hara and Weller Hauraki also crossed for Brian Noble's side.
