Hull KR coach Justin Morgan has not given up hope of both Jake Webster and Kris Welham featuring in the play-offs, if the Robins reach the end-of-season matches.
Webster has not played since last month's game against the Catalans Dragons since when he has been forced to endure a hip operation.
Fellow centre Welham is currently recovering from shoulder surgery, but Morgan said: "Jake's coming along really nicely at the moment. I expect him to be playing at some stage during the play-offs.
"It may not be until late September when hopefully we are still alive in the competition.
"Kris is coming along nicely as well. I think he has an outside chance of playing in the play-offs."
Meanwhile, Morgan is hoping to extend Wigan teenager Josh Charnley's loan spell at the club until the end of the season, adding: "Josh is fast and strong and he's slotted well into the team.
"We'd like to keep him for the play-offs, but it's not my decision. I can only make the request but I'm at their mercy because he is Wigan's player."
